Few residents remain at Cedarcreek Health Care Center

Thursday was the deadline set by the state of Ohio for the troubled nursing home to end its part in the Medicare program

First News received several reports that Cedarcreek in Warren is closing, but officials say it will remain open for now. The health care facility did receive a proposal to have its Medicare license revoked, but it has a chance to respond and appeal.

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Just a few residents remained at Cedarcreek Health Care Center on Thursday.

Thursday was the deadline set by the state of Ohio for the troubled nursing home to end its part in the Medicare program. The state recommended the closure after poor inspections and a history of violations at the home in Warren.

The closure is the latest for the New Beginnings chain. Almost half of the company’s 15 homes have closed in the last six months.

That company has filed bankruptcy in Tennessee.
