An ambulance had to be called for Robert Anderson, 38.

Robert Anderson of Youngstown faces drug, assault and resisting arrest charges.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A 38-year-old man is out of the hospital and in the Mahoning County Jail after he swallowed some drugs then assaulted police officers Wednesday night.

Police had to call an ambulance to the corner of East Lucius Avenue and South Avenue because Robert Anderson was vomiting in the police cruiser and on the pavement.

It all started when patrol officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation Wednesday evening. Anderson was a passenger in that vehicle.

When officers started checking for warrants, he fled. When they caught up with him, they used a taser to handcuff him. Police say he was still able to assault them.

After they had him handcuffed, they found drugs and paraphernalia on Anderson. He faces drug, assault, and resisting arrest charges.
