East Liverpool receives grant for paving project

The Ohio Public Works Commission awarded the city $227,809

EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) – The City of East Liverpool has been awarded a grant for a paving project.

The Ohio Public Works Commission awarded the city $227,809, according to a news release from East Liverpool Mayor Ryan Stovall.

Stovall says the grant money will be used to pave Weber Way, Jefferson, Jackson, Market and Broadway streets. The total cost of that project is estimated at $1.6 million, with all costs being covered through grants and Ohio Department of Transportation funding.

“I am very grateful to the Ohio Public Works Commission and the Ohio Department of Transportation for their financial support of this project,” Stovall said. “This is just one more step in East Liverpool’s recovery, as good roads attract good businesses. I also want to thank Planning Director Bill Cowan for his hard work on securing these funds and looking for every available dollar out there for projects such as this.”
