LISBON, Ohio (WKBN) — A woman who stole more than $8,500 from the East Palestine Parent Teacher Organization has been placed on a four-year restitution.
Nissa Phillips, 41, of Columbiana, pleaded guilty to theft on Friday, the Morning Journal reports.
As part of Phillips’ intervention plan on the conviction, she will be required to make restitution. Columbiana Court of Common Pleas Judge Scott Washam also told Phillips to obtain a part-time job and write and apology letter to the PTO, according to the Morning Journal.
Phillips served as president of the PTO between February and August 2013, during which time she took money from two book fair fundraisers.
