YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Winter Wine Affair at Stambaugh Auditorium brought more than 20 Ohio wine makers to Youngstown on Saturday.
Several types of wine and light appetizers were available, along with relaxing music. Those who attended could enjoy samples and purchase their favorites.
The Ohio Wine Producer’s Association coordinated the event, with wine makers coming from as far as Cincinnati.
“This is the only association to represent only Ohio wineries, so most of the fruit in the bottles around the room are grown in this state,” said Executive Director Donnie Winchell. “If you’re looking for an experience that is indigenous to Ohio and authentically Ohio, you have that kind of opportunity at this kind of event.”
Over 500 people bought tickets in advance, and even more paid at the door.
It was the first year for the festival, but directors say they will bring it back this summer and throughout the fall.
