Youngstown photography exhibit portrays industrial sites

The Western Port Authority held a photography exhibit at the M Gallery in Youngstown.

The Western Port Authority held the "Vision of Potential" gallery to showcase Youngstown's industrial history.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Local art was on display at the M Gallery in downtown Youngstown Saturday night.

The photography exhibit was called “Vision of Potential,” and some of the artists are from the Mahoning Valley.

The Western Port Authority commissioned six artists to take photos of former industrial sites in the area showing what they used to be and what they are now.

“They’re bringing awareness and education to the sites we have around the area,” said spokesman Justin Coggins.

In addition to viewing the exhibits, spectators could also meet the artists.
