Authorities investigate how body ended up in garbage truck

FAIRLAWN, Ohio (AP) – Ohio authorities are investigating how a body ended up in the back of a garbage truck.

Police in Fairlawn in northeastern Ohio say a driver with Republic Waste Services called police about 4 a.m. Saturday to say he suspected a body was in the vehicle.

Investigators confirmed the discovery but don’t know where the driver may have picked the body up. The truck driver also collected waste from nearby Akron and Copley Township.

Police have identified the deceased but aren’t releasing the name while relatives are notified.
