BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Township police have located a pickup truck involved in a hit and run crash that sent a small child to the hospital Sunday.
The Ford Ranger left the scene after colliding with an SUV. The right side of an SUV’s back seat was hit on Afton Avenue. The baby was in the back seat.
Police believe the SUV was making a left out of the driveway when the vehicle attempted to swerve around it.
Phyllis Beharry, a nearby homeowner who witnessed the crash, says the SUV was turning around when it was clipped from behind by another vehicle.
“I heard a wreck, so I came running and I look out the window. At that time, I see the SUV roll into my light post. I ran to the door, this little Ford Ranger, gold color, took off down the road.”
The baby was taken to the hospital. There’s no word on the condition of the child.
Boardman Police later located the vehicle and are trying to determine who was driving it at the time of the crash.
