POLAND, Ohio (WKBN) – There isn’t an exact recipe for opening a successful small business, but a Poland native is hoping that she is whipped up just the right ingredients to make her new bakery a success.

Poland native Gabriele Brocker opened her bakery, Bake Me Treats, last month in the village.

The 23-year-old said she was always in the kitchen as a child, and her love of treats propelled her to go on to attend culinary school and work with a French pastry chef in Pittsburgh. But she knew she wanted to bring her talents and business back home.

“I think it’s so cool to bring back what I’ve learned and share it with our community,” she said. “It’s something I’m so interested in and something that we don’t have a lot of around here, and I think that’s the coolest part — is to share this new thing that I’ve learned.”

Bake Me Treats specializes in French macarons and also bakes custom cakes for wedding and other special occasions.

The bakery is located at 16 S. Main St. in Poland. It is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 6 p.m Friday and Saturday. The bakery is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Brocker said she plans to offer macaron-making classes in the future.

You can also find Brocker’s macarons at Generations Coffee in Columbiana and Branch Street Coffee Toasters in Boardman.
