WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A Warren mother charged with the neglect of her visually-impaired child was arrested Sunday for failure to appear on those charges.
A warrant was issued for Melissa Bland’s arrest after she failed to appear in court on the child endangering charge in March of 2015. She was arrested January 28 after police said her teenage child was found in a feces-filled house, with little food.
Police said they learned of the situation from the teen’s stepfather, who had visited the home.
On Sunday, police arrested Bland, along with Steven Caserta, at a Milton Street home. According to a police report, Caserta was charged with a probation violation through Euclid, Ohio.
Bland was taken to Trumbull County Jail. She also faces a possession of drug abuse instruments charge from last year, according to court and jail records.
