GIRARD, Ohio (WKBN) – A man who police say assaulted his wife and then attempted to sell her for drugs was in Girard court this morning.

James Mrofchak is facing assault charges and other outstanding warrants.

His bond was set at $57,500.

Police arrested him Wednesday at a home on Second Street.

His wife, Jacqueline, told police that Mrofchak beat her and tried to sell her for drugs during an altercation in December. Police also arrested Mrofchak Tuesday and charged her with obstruction for trying to stop officers from arresting her husband.

She didn’t show up for court today, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
