South Range survives Ursuline, on to District Finals

Maddie Durkin scored 25 points to help the Raiders hold off the Irish, 60-58 Wednesday.

Struthers, OH (WKBN) – The South Range girls basketball team defeated Ursuline, 60-58 Wednesday in a Division III District Semifinal at Struthers High School.

It was a close game from the start, as the Raiders took a narrow,32-28 lead into the half. The Irish had their chances in the second half, but went just 9-25 from the free throw line.

Maddie Durkin poured in a team-high 25 points for South Range, while Taylor Naples added 13. Four Raiders scored in double figures, including Lynnie Ritter and Morgan Czopur with 11 points apiece.

Ursuline (10-14) freshman Dayshanette Harris continued her stellar play with a game-high 28 points, while teammate Simone Comer added 22.
