Covelli Centre generates over $500,000 in revenue in 2015

It's the second-highest revenue figure in the 10-year history of the building.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – 2015 will go down as another financially successful year at the downtown Youngstown Covelli Centre.

According to information provided by the JAC Management Group which operates the arena, operational profit for last year amounted to $372,954. Add to that the $192,102 realized from the 5.5% admission tax, and the city picked up a cool $565,056 from events at the facility.

That’s the second-highest revenue figure in the building’s history. The numbers were higher in 2014.

Eric Ryan with the management group says they hosted 86 events last year with over 200,000 people in attendance. Highlights included sold-out performances by the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Brad Paisley, British rockers Def Leppard, Shinedown and music icon James Taylor.

They continue to reinvest in the facility. Ryan says they made improvements to the sound system, luxury suite TVs, boiler system and ice plant compressor.
