Niles man charged with driving drunk, fleeing cops, hitting mailboxes

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – A man from Niles is facing felony charges after doing quite a bit of damage with his pickup Wednesday.

Officers say 47 year old Robert Martin II was under the influence when he rammed his truck into another car at a gas station and then sped off with police close behind.

Police said he eventually hit a curb and three mailboxes on North Road, blowing out a tire before finally winding up in someone’s front yard.

Martin is charged with felony OVI, fleeing, and driving under suspension.
