Kennedy Catholic fends off Farrell, captures District 10 Title

The Golden Eagles beat Farrell for the third time this season and won their second straight D10 Title.

Slippery Rock, PA (WKBN) – The Kennedy Catholic boys basketball team defeated Farrell, 73-65 Friday in the Class A District 10 Championship at Slippery Rock University.

The Golden Eagles trailed 25-24 at halftime, but used a strong third quarter to break the game open.

Malik Miller scored a game-high 31 points and passed the school’s all-time scoring record on a three pointer in the 2nd quarter. Miller needed just 4 points to break the record.

Jason Austin led the way for Kennedy Catholic with 23 points, while Channing Phillips had 15 and Mohamed Konate 13.

Kennedy Catholic improves to 23-2 on the season, while Farrell drops to 19-6.
