Art auction in Youngstown features international pieces

The auction at the Soap Gallery will help provide scholarships for students at the Lindsay Renea Dance Theatre.

Art from all over the country and around the world is auctioned off at the Soap Gallery in Youngstown.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Artists from all over the world auctioned off their work Saturday night at the Soap Gallery in downtown Youngstown.

Pieces from New York, Washington D.C., Dominica and Haiti were on display and up for bid. Artists created live paintings and drawings, as well as dance and performed music.

Artistic director Lindsay Renea says Youngstown is experiencing an art revitalization.

“I would certainly say there is definitely more and more arts coming into the neighborhood.”

The funds raised will help provide scholarships for students at the Lindsay Renea Dance Theatre.
