YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A local Chevy dealer says potential car buyers are excited about the 2016 Cruze.

Dealership owner Diane Sauer believes the new model will continue to build the brand.

“The response and the reaction from the consumers has been terrific. We think it will generate even additional customers for the Chevy brand, of people that see this dynamic-looking car.”

The next-generation model appeared in Ohio for the first time at the Cleveland Auto Show.

The new model is longer, lighter and more fuel-efficient. It also has more horse power and better technology.

GM manufactures the Cruze at its plant in Lordstown, where the company has invested $250 million in the last half-decade.

GM has 5,000 workers making the new Cruze at the Lordstown plant. The car will go on sale this spring.
