Second phase begins on I-80 project in Mercer County

Lane restrictions are expected.

MERCER, Pa. (WKBN) –  A multi-million dollar road improvement project continues this week in Mercer County.

The $13.4 million project will involve pavement restoration on Interstate 80 from the Ohio state line to Exit 15 (Mercer, Route 19), extending through Shenango, Lackawannock and East Lackawannock townships in Mercer County. The total project length is 14.81 miles

Signs are being places along the Interstate 80 to warn motorists. No detours are anticipated, but there will be lane restrictions while work is in progress.

The first phase of the project began in September with the bulk of the work to be completed during the spring and summer construction season.
