Newton Falls girls bow out at Regionals

The Tigers fell, 51-36 to Chippewa Wednesday in the Division III Regional Semifinals.

Cuyahoga Falls, OH (WKBN) – The Newton Falls girls basketball team fell short, 51-36 to Chippewa in the Division III Regional Semifinals Wednesday at Cuyahoga Falls High School.

It was a low scoring first half, and the Tigers were put in a tough spot when senior captain Gabby Kline picked up two fouls, forcing her to sit. Chippewa took a 21-14 lead into halftime.

The Chipps continued to apply pressure in the second half and stretched the floor with their outside shooting. Taylor Richards led the way with a game-high 22 points.

Newton Falls was led by the Kline sisters again, Gabby with 11 points, and Izzy with 10. The Tigers finish the season with a 24-2 overall record.
