WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – Almost four months after a Warren man was convicted of several violent charges, Allen Elkins learns he’ll be spending 54 years behind bars.

The 31-year-old received his sentence Wednesday morning from Judge Wyatt McKay.

A jury found Elkins guilty of aggravated burglary, felonious assault, kidnapping, and aggravated robbery stemming from an incident back in June of 2014 where he broke into a home on Adelaide Avenue Southeast and held the resident at gunpoint before the two men ended up exchanging gunfire.

McKay sentenced Elkins to additional time, since the court found he was a repeat violent offender.

Elkins’ attorney indicated he’ll be filing an appeal.
