Police arrested a man in Struthers, charging him with the Boardman incident from August

US Marshals Task Force arrested Anthony J. Carson at 373 Brandon Ave. in Struthers, Ohio on March 2, 2016 for breaking and entering.

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police arrested a suspect Wednesday in a Boardman jewelry store break-in from August.

Anthony Carson, 18, is charged with breaking and entering for an incident at the Direct Jewelry Outlet on Route 224 across from the Mill Creek Golf Course. Someone broke into the store around 2:30 a.m. on Aug. 20.

Police found glass on the floor from the broken tops of four jewelry cases inside the store.

Officers and police dogs tried to track the suspect through the woods across the street and onto the Mill Creek Golf Course.

“They had a trail of merchandise that the individual was dropping, and they were following it with police dogs,” said Greg Lehner, owner of the Direct Jewelry Outlet.

Police say the dogs found a bandana and some watches. The store’s owner estimates that the suspect stole at least $1,000 in items.

U.S. Marshals arrested Carson at his house in Struthers Wednesday.

A number listed for Carson on the police report was disconnected.
