Man arrested on drug charges on Youngstown’s south side

Police said they found drugs stuffed under the siding of an adjacent house in Youngstown

Dawan Williams and Brittney Fitzgerald were arrested in Youngstown, Ohio drug charges after a raid on a abandoned house.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Two people are in the Mahoning County Jail Thursday after police raided a home and found drugs nearby.

Police entered a house on East Avondale Avenue Wednesday at about 5 p.m. and found Brittney Fitzgerald, 28. Police said they saw Dawan Williams, 30, who they say is a suspected drug dealer, walking up the driveway of the house.

Williams was charged with possession of heroin, cocaine and other drug paraphernalia after police said they found a baggie with heroin and crack in it stuffed under the siding of a house at 150 E. Avondale Ave. Police also reported finding some digital scales inside the house at 146 E. Avondale. Fitzgerald was arrested on a previous charge of driving under suspension.

Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated that the house where police claimed they found Fitzgerald and Williams was abandoned. That version also stated that the drugs were found at 146 E. Avondale Ave., the same house as Fitzgerald and Williams. We regret the errors.
