EAST LIVERPOOL, Ohio (WKBN) — A Wednesday morning fire at a Liverpool Township business caused damages estimated at nearly $500,000.

The Morning Journal reports that the fire at MTJC Inc., located at 1260 Shadyside Ave., was reported at 6:51 a.m. Glenmoor firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the large commercial pole building owned by Mark Tice.

Liverpool Township firefighter Mike Bahen told the Morning Journal that the fire began in the back of the building, which only had one garage door, making it hard for firefighters to extinguish. The structure was also packed with building materials.

Wellsville and Highlandtown fire departments also responded to the fire. The State Fire Marshal was called in to investigate and ruled the cause of the fire undetermined, although an electrical issue was ruled out.
