Jackson-Milton girls fall short in Sweet 16

The Blue Jays trailed 24-10 at halftime and lost to Cornerstone Christian Thursday, 46-34.

Massillon, OH (WKBN) – The Jackson-Milton girls basketball team lost to Cornerstone Christian, 46-34 Thursday in a Division IV Regional Semifinal at Massillon Perry High School.

The Blue Jays were pressured early and trailed 24-10 at halftime. A solid second half kept them in the game but it was not enough, as the Patriots advanced to the Regional Finals.

Kaitlyn Totani led the way for Jackson-Milton with 16 points, while Ashley West scored a game-high 19 points for Cornerstone Christian.

It was the first-ever Regional appearance for the Blue Jays and they end a strong campaign with a 23-3 overall record.
