YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Mahoning County is a step close to having a new facility for the county dog warden.

Thursday morning, county commissioners agreed to spend $20,000 on demolition work to tear down a couple buildings at the old “Jump Stretch” property on Meridian Road in Austintown.

That’s where the new kennel and offices for the dog pound will be built.

Bids for the new construction will be opened in two weeks, while demolition on the old structures should begin before the end of the month.
