Police: Worker’s throat slashed in Philadelphia restaurant

PHILADELPHIA (AP) – Authorities say a woman is dead after someone slashed her throat at the south Philadelphia restaurant where she worked.

It happened Thursday night at Lee’s Cafe and Bistro where the 54-year-old victim worked as a cook.

Chief Inspector Scott Small tells KYW-TV that there was a struggle in the kitchen that ended with the cook’s throat being slashed. Small says the woman had a deep cut in her neck and bruising to her face.

He says there were about 10 people inside the restaurant when the attack happened. Police say several customers and employees were interviewed by detectives.

Investigators didn’t immediately identify the woman.

No arrests have been made.
