Poland Rotary hosts chili golf classic for local charities

The chili eating and golf putting contests were held at Bedford Trails Golf Course in Lowellville.

The Poland Rotary hosted its Chili Open Golf Classic at Bedford Trails.

LOWELLVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) – The Poland Rotary hosted its 31st annual Chili Golf Open Classic at the Bedford Trails Golf Course in Lowellville on Saturday.

The Valley winter tradition included a chili eating contest and a putting contest. People could also win prizes and enter a raffle.

“Everything we use for the community. So we’re a completely non-profit organization, and we got 35 great volunteers that make up our club that really puts a lot into each and every one of these events,” said President Chris Cruciger.

The proceeds from the event will benefit the following local charities:

    • Boys & Girls Club
    • Down Syndrome Association of the Valley
    • Easter Seals Disability Services
    • Golden String Inc.
    • Hospice of the Valley
    • Inspiring Minds
    • Mahoning County CASA/GAL
    • Making Kids Count
    • Mission of Love
    • Poland Interfaith Pantry
    • Potential Development
    • Second Harvest Food Bank
    • Sister Jerome’s Poor at the Ursuline Center
    • Sojourner House
    • Yellow Brick Place
