CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) –  A Campbell Middle School student set off a firework while on a school bus in Campbell Tuesday afternoon, according to Campbell Superintendent Matt Bowen.

Bowen said that Campbell Police detained the student just after 3 p.m. and that the student’s parents will be contacted.

“These situations are never taken lightly,” Bowen said. “The student will have his due process rights invoked, and he will have to be held accountable for his actions.”

Bowen said that school officials want to stress the importance of student safety within Campbell Schools.
