Kennedy Catholic routs Coudersport

Jason Austin and Sagaba Konate each scored in double-figures as Kennedy Catholic is heading to the Class "A" quarterfinals.

CLARION, PA (WKBN)-Kennedy Catholic is on to the PIAA Class “A” Quarterfinals after the Golden Eagles topped Coudersport in the PIAA second round 65-26.

Kennedy rushed out of the gate as Sagaba Konate opened the scoring with a big dunk, leading the Golden Eagles to a 17-4 advantage after the first quarter.

The Falcons had their best run of the game in the second quarter however, scoring 11 points in the frame, their most in a quarter all game. The big quarter put Coudersport down 15 at half.

But KC came out strong in the 2nd half, holding the Falcons to just 11 points the rest of the game.

Jason Austin led the Golden Eagles in scoring with 20 points while Konate added 15.

With the win Kennedy Catholic is heading to the quarterfinals where they will meet WPIAL champion North Catholic on Friday. The time and location will be announced by the PIAA soon.
