Niles PD: Man broke into car, fled on foot

The arrest happened Monday night in Niles

Ryan Higgins was arrested in Niles, Ohio charged with theft and criminal trespassing.

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – A homeowner in Niles ran down a man he caught inside his car.

Police arrested 32-year-old Ryan Higgins Monday night after a man living in the 800 block of Vienna Avenue told police he spotted Higgins breaking into his car.

Higgins took off but the homeowner got in his car and chased him down, first with his car and then on foot, according to police, who said that Higgins even ran out of his shoes during the chase.

Police arrested Higgins and charged him with theft and criminal trespass.

A woman who was with Higgins, 21-year-old Emily Teed, was also charged with criminal trespassing.
