PGA offers free golf lessons for disabled veterans

The program is called PGA Hope

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The PGA is teaming up with veteran’s hospitals to give free golf lessons to disabled veterans and service members.

The program is called PGA Hope. After the lessons, veterans get invited to play in weekly golf outings. It’s meant to be therapeutic, giving veterans a chance to spend to time and share stories with each other.

“We’re getting veterans to focus on something besides their PTSD or physical disability and golf is the tool we’re using,” said PGA Hope Coordinator Chris Novak.
