WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A gas station employee reported being robbed by gunpoint on Tuesday.
Officers were called to the BP gas station, located at 1290 E. Market St., just after 9 p.m.
An employee told police that she went to take the trash out near the back of the building when she was approached by the robber, who pointed a gun at her and made her go behind the register and get money out from the safe.
Two customers and another employee gave police a description of the robber. He was described as a tall black man, approximately 6’4″ tall and 220 pounds, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black and white stone-wash jeans, a gray hat and white bandanna over his face. The man was also wearing camouflage shorts or underwear under his jeans, according to a Warren Police report.
The robber was also described to have a darker complexion with very dry, white hands, and he was carrying a medium-sized semi-automatic handgun. He may have left in an older-model, black-in-color Ford Crown Victoria, one of the witnesses told police.
Police are reviewing security footage of the incident.
