New Castle Boys Fall in State Quarterfinals

Altoona, PA (WKBN) – New Castle’s season comes to an end in the Class AAA State Quarterfinals with a 77-68 loss to Bishop McDevitt Friday night.

The Canes had three players in double figures. Senior Marquel Hooker led the team with 21 points. Junior Geno Stone added 18, while sophomore Marcus Hooker chipped in 12.

Bishop McDevitt got a big game from James Williams. The 6-4 senior finished with a game high 35 points, helping lead the Crusaders to the Western Finals next Tuesday.

New Castle finishes the season with an overall record of 25 wins and just 3 losses.
