YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – When the kids in the Discover Program at Kirkmere Elementary heard what happened with the water crisis in Sebring, they say they knew they had to help.

And that’s exactly what they did.

Friday, 199 cases of water are headed to the Sebring Community Cetner, where water is distributed.

All of it was collected by students in the GLOW and BILL mentoring programs. They made fliers and sent them home, asking for donations of cases of water, or money to buy cases of water.

“All of the proceeds benefit our school. This year, we are going to use some of the extra money towards technology to update some of the programming in the school,” Kirkmere Community Liaison Ledonna Walker said.

The water will be distributed from the community center to help those who need it.
