Victims named in Smith Township fatal crash

Three others were treated for non-life threatening injuries

Two people have died and two others were injured in a Beloit accident.

SMITH TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Twp people died and three others were injured in an accident Tuesday afternoon, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred near Ohio 165 and Courtney Road in the Beloit area.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Julie Gailey, 47, of Sebring was driving a Chevrolet HHR and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Courtney Road and Route 165 and was struck by an SUV, which pushed the HHR into a box truck.

Gailey was pronounced dead at the scene. Her male passenger, 60-year-old Robert Gailey, was taken to a Canton hospital where he died from injuries sustained in the crash.

The driver of the SUV, Alexis Drennan, 31, of Salem and two juvenile passengers were taken to St. Elizabeth Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the box truck and his passenger were not hurt.
