Kennedy Catholic punches ticket to State Final

The Golden Eagles advance to face Math, Civics, and Science (16-14) in the PIAA Class A State Championship Game Friday at 2PM at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.

Kennedy Catholic's Drew Magestro tallied 18 points to lead the Golden Eagles to a 75-61 win over Sewickley Academy in the Class A Western Final.

SLIPPERY ROCK, Pennsylvania (WKBN) – Kennedy Catholic is now one victory away from winning a PIAA Class A State Title, following a 75-61 win over Sewickley Academy Tuesday night in the Western Final at Slippery Rock University.

Drew Magestro led the Golden Eagles with 18 points and six assists.  Sagaba Konate and Mohamed Konate also had strong performances, piling up 16 points apiece.  Sagaba added 13 rebounds, while Mohamed tallies 8 boards.  Maceo Austin finished with 13 points, while Jason added 10 points in the win for the Golden Eagles.

Kennedy Catholic improves to 27-2 overall on the season.
