YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A woman driving home from work Wednesday found the body of a man lying in the road.
At about 2 a.m., Youngstown Police went to Oak Street Extension, where they found the body of a 23-year-old male in the road. He died of an apparent gunshot wound.
This is the city’s third homicide of the year. Captain Brad Blackburn said the homicide rate in the city has been low.
“It’s just like anything, it ebbs and flows. I mean, you know, unfortunately we start off the year with quite a few and this year is seems slower, but you are always cautious about it because anything can change,” Blackburn said.
So far, police have not named any suspects, and the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office is also investigating the case. Anyone with information can call Youngstown police at 330-747-7911.
