YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Former middleweight boxing champion Kelly Pavlik has been indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury on two felony counts.
Pavlik faces two felonious assault charges in relation to an alleged pellet gun attack in August. He turned himself in to police Friday and was released on $25,000 bond.
A Boardman man accused Pavlik of shooting him with a 22-caliber pellet gun outside of his Canfield Township home. According to a police report, Pavlik, the alleged victim and several others had been drinking when Pavlik pointed the gun at the man, firing twice and striking him in the arm.
Pavlik was initially charged with misdemeanor assault.
