HOWLAND TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – A destination for outdoor supplies is reopening in Howland Township.

Shoppers got a first look at the new Gander Mountain Thursday. A grand reopening celebration will be held this weekend, kicking off Friday with appearances by Cleveland Browns player Gary Barnidge and country music artist and host of “Headhunters TV” Nate Hosie.

The store is located on state Route 46 near the Eastwood Mall. It offers hunting, fishing and other outdoor equipment.

The owners tore down the previous store to build the new, larger building, which is almost twice the size of the old place. Before the reopening, Gander Mountain was temporarily located in the space that used to be Linens and Things, in the same plaza. That building will now be available for expos and other shows.

Other appearances are planned throughout the weekend, including Troy Landry, the star of the History Channel’s “Swamp People.”
