Kennedy Catholic gets big send-off heading to State

Players say they've been studying their opponent to prepare for the big game

The Kennedy Catholic Golden Eagles got a big send off as the head to the state tournament.

HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) – The Kennedy Catholic basketball team is headed to Hershey for the state championship, and a crowd of fans gathered Thursday to send the Golden Eagles off in style.

It’s about a 4-hour trip to Hershey, where the team will play against Math, Civics, and Science. Head coach Rick Mancino says he thinks the team is prepared for a win.

“We are taking it just like any other game. We understand it is the biggest game of the year. We prepared ourselves. We played a lot of good teams this year on both ends. So, we are hoping we have our team in a position to be successful down here,” Mancino said.

Players say they’ve been studying their opponent to prepare for the big game.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the Giant Center.
