All of the lead violations listed in the article have been resolved

Water testing in Sebring, Ohio.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – In a recent issue of USA today, the newspaper singled out several water systems in Columbiana and Mahoning counties for having tested positive for lead, but the information is out of date.

The Ohio EPA says the tests listed on the USA today article date back to 2012. All of the lead violations listed in the article have been resolved.

“They test every six months. And once the water system has two six-month periods where they don’t have an exceedance, then the advisory is removed,” said Heidi Griesmer, EPA spokesperson.

The EPA lists current water quality violations on its website.
