Youngstown homicide victim identified

Youngstown police are investigating a shoot on Oak Street Extension.


YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A man found dead on a Youngstown road early Wednesday morning has been identified.

Omar Croom, 23, was found by a woman who was driving home from work at 2 a.m. The Youngstown man died of an apparent gunshot wound, according to police.

So far, police have not named any suspects, and the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office is also investigating the case. Anyone with information can call Youngstown police at 330-747-7911.

This is the city’s third homicide of the year.
