2016 Campbell Baseball Preview
Head Coach: Brian Nichols, 5th season (28-54-1)
2015 Record: 9-15 (7-7), AAC Blue

More: High School Baseball previews from other teams

Key Losses: Campbell lost a trio of four-year starters in Nico Bednarik, Stephan Elash and Ryan Luciano. Bednarik and Luciano were All-Conference performers. Also gone from last year’s team is two-year starter Will Morris.

Key Returnees: Standout hurler Mike Jones returns for his senior season as compiling an 8-3 record on the hill and becoming an all-conference pitcher as a junior.

Outlook: As coach Brian Nichols points out – the Red Devils will be a youthful bunch in 2016. “With that youth comes a solid work ethic as well as a lot of athleticism. Two of our returning sophomores lettered as freshmen. We’ll need to add depth into (the pitching) rotation. We’re led by Mike Jones who posted a sub 3.00-ERA.” Campbell will feature the following newcomers: Joel Flores (Jr/OF), Laz Lebron (Jr/P-IF), Darion Jones (So/P-IF), Ian Sewell (So/IF), Seth Jackson (So/C), and Marc Elash (So/IF-OF).
