SPRINGFIELD TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Watch for possible lane restrictions on the Ohio Turnpike near the Eastgate toll booths Wednesday morning, as crews pull a tractor-trailer rig out of the ditch.

That semi rolled over at around 11:15 Tuesday night, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The rig was going eastbound when it went off the right side of the road, less than a mile from the toll stop.

Troopers say speed may have been a factor in the crash. The speed limit is posted at 55 miles per hour as drivers approach the toll stop. The driver told first responders he was doing 65.

The driver was taken to Saint Elizabeth Medical Center for what are being called minor injuries. Troopers say those injuries could have been avoided if the driver had been wearing a seat belt.

Springfield Township firefighters also responded to the accident, which remains under investigation.

The Ohio Tunrpike Commission said the accident will take most of Wednesday to remove.
