HOWLAND TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – Howland Township is looking for a new police chief after Chief Paul Monroe’s election as Trumbull County Sheriff.
Monroe has been with the Howland Police Department for 30 years. As far as the search for his replacement, Township Administrator Darlene St. George said the process is up to the township trustees.
“I look for them to meet as early as next month when they have a trustee meeting. They have one tonight, but one board member is out of town, so I know they will not be discussing it tonight,” St. George said on Wednesday.
Trumbull County’s current sheriff, Tom Altiere, hired Monroe as a patrolman decades ago.
