GREEN TWP., Ohio (WKBN) – If it wasn’t for a passerby, one local home would have completely burned to the ground on Wednesday.

Green Township firefighters were called out for a house fire around 6 p.m. on Washingtonville and Roller roads.

A person going by the home reported the fire after seeing smoke coming out of the old house.

No one was hurt, and the fire department was trying to reach the homeowner, who was not home at the time the fire started.

Investigators are trying to determine what started the fire.
