YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – After a brief closure, Avalon Downtown in Youngstown will reopen its doors on Friday, according to a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page.
The popular downtown restaurant closed suddenly for unspecified reasons last month. In February, Youngstown Mayor John McNally said he spoke to the restaurant’s owner, who said the hope was to reopen the restaurant again.
“We want to take a moment and thank you all for your constant support and loving comments that you shared with us… Without you lovely people this would not be possible,” the Facebook post read.
The restaurant also indicated that a new menu was available on its website.
The family-owned and operated business opened in 2012, serving pizzas, sandwiches and Italian fare. The restaurant will reopen at 11 a.m. Friday.
