WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A 24-year-old man charged in connection with a shooting in Warren Thursday evening claims he fired his weapon after the victim pulled a gun on him.

Jameer Green is charged with felonious assault.

Trumbull County dispatchers say Green called them at 6:40 p.m. Thursday to say he shot a man who had pulled out a gun. He waited for officers to arrive at the scene in the 1700 block of Ferndale Ave. SW.

The victim was taken to the hospital; his condition is not known.

Green appeared in Warren Municipal Court on Friday and pleaded not guilty to the charge. Trumbull County Jail records show bond was set at $35,000.
