Greenville store displays baby animals for customers

The 35th annual "Peep Show" at Hurlbert's Hardware was originally an Easter promotion for children

Hurlbert's Hardware in Greenville held its annual baby animal "Peep Show."

GREENVILLE, Pa. (WKBN) – People of all ages enjoyed looking at baby animals in big picture windows at Hurlbert’s Hardware on Saturday for the 35th annual “Peep Show.”

People interacted with various animals on display, from chicks and ducks to rabbits.

“We did it originally as a promotion for Easter…as a customer appreciation,” Janet Hurlbert said. “We wanted to think about how to get children into our store so they could have a pleasant experience in a small store, and it just had a life of its own from then on.”

The store has been around since 1898, but was taken over by the Hurlbert Family in 1903.
