YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Julius Williams, accused of killing an 87-year-old man, was arraigned Wednesday on an aggravated murder charge.
Williams appeared by video from jail for his arraignment in Youngstown Municipal Court. He pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Williams was arrested and charged with the murder of William Cox, Jr. on Monday. He is accused of beating the 87-year-old man, who neighbors identified as his great-grandfather, with a hammer.
Cox was found inside a Harvard Street home around 11:30 p.m. Monday.
Williams remains in Mahoning County Jail on a $500,000 bond. It was indicated in court that Williams only has a total of $1 in his savings and checking accounts.
